Happy New Year to all of you working hard everyday to make the world a better place. If you work in a for profit environment; everytime you eliminate waste, you create more value for customers. This creation of value contributes to profitability which pays your check. Profitability = Wealth So in essesnce by creating wealth you raise the standard of living and are making the world a better place!
If you work in a non-profit organization; everytime you eliminate waste, you also create more value for your customers. This increased value allows you to service more customers for the same dollars. This also saves money for your organization and your funder(s) which may inlcude a government. Most governments are grossly short on funds.(or perhaps are full of waste?) By being fiscally responsible you are also changing the world.
At the end of the day, we should all have a focus to leave the world better than we found it. Living a lean lifestyle and practicing lean in your workplace all leave the world better than you found it.
So keep the faith when work becomes difficult. Each day you contribute to adding more value, you make the broader contribution of making our world a better place.
